Recap of NY, the weekend, and upcoming travels!

So NY was the best weekend! It was great to have hubs get away from work for a weekend and to just spend time with my parents in the city. As soon as we landed we headed and checked into the Hilton downtown. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at the famous Carnage Deli and then started the shopping!

Saks was our first stop and I scored big with some finds on Tory Burch, Marc by Marc Jacobs and J Brand jeans. Luckily enough, the whole weekend at Saks was a 20% off total order with the Friends and Family sale! Of course not everything was included with the sale, but lots of things were so it made shopping that much better!

The trip really got off to a great start because while we were searching for the perfect bag, I turned my shoulder and saw someone that looked very familiar- Ashley Greene from Twilight! I'm not a huge Twilight fan, but I have seen the movies and love all things celebrity so I recognized her right away! My mom is so funny and will chat with anyone so when I didn't want to bother her for a picture, my mom politely went up to her and asked for a picture and we chatted for probably 10 minutes! She was buying a bag for her friend’s Birthday. The rest of the weekend was spent eating at amazing restaurants- Rosa Mexicana, Uncle Jacks, Shake shack, etc!  More shopping was done, and we went to Bryant Park, Meat packing District, and the Ground Zero construction site which was amazing to be able to see. Taking in the city at its finest- I just love NY!

We had our friends from Canada that we went to College with visit this weekend! It was a great weekend of good food, going out downtown and catching up. I love having friends and family come visit since we are new in our home and we can show them around everywhere.

This week will be a fun but busy one. I am working a dinner party Wednesday night at Whitehead Manor and Hubs 25th Birthday is Thursday! I have some fun things planned and excited to celebrate! Friday we are off to Virginia for my older sister’s Bridal shower. Hubs, Dad, and my Uncles will be playing golf during the shower and have some guy time. My mom, sister and I have been working so hard to plan the perfect day! All of our family will be traveling in for it, so it will be nice to have a weekend to celebrate and see how much she loves everything since everything is a complete surprise.

I am also finishing up planning our trip to Charleston as well! Less than two weeks and I couldn't be more excited!

I need to start adding pictures because I know it is probably not as exciting to just read a blog- I know I love seeing pictures on other blogs I read.

Have a great day,
xoxo Mrs. P

Playing Catch up... again

So I know I have severlyyy neglected my blog and even though I have no readers (maybe I do since I comment on other blogs, but no comments) I feel like I should still keep track of lifes happenings to be able to look back on for me myself and I!

My parents and my sister Kelly came into town this past weekend and it was the best time! Quality time with the fam except Marisa- we worked on a bunch of things for her upcoming Bridal Shower which is all a surprise to her! I cooked dinner Friday night which was yummoo then I made reservations for Cowfish for Saturday night which was very good and lots of fun! We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out, shopping, and relaxing. The guys (Dad and hubs) headed to the Panthers game on Sunday so my mom, sister and I did some damage at nordstrom and other stores at Southpark Mall :)

This weekend my plan is to look for costumes for us and Bax, decorate the house for Halloween and go to the pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins to carve!

We are heading to NY in about a week to celebrate our 25th birthdays with my parents! I am SOO excited to shop, eat yummy food, and take in the city. I LOVE NY!

Soon after that the hubs and I will be heading to Charleston to continue our birthday celebrations. We both have never been to Charleston so we are both very excited for our romantic getaway to a new and fun city! I have already made our hotel reservations and have been researching all of the places to go eat and things to do!!

Well, have a happy Wednesday all.

Florida here I come!

I am heading to Florida tomorrow to visit with the fam and then working during the week for my job in the srq office. I am SO excited! I have only been home once since we got married in March and I am so looking forward to it. The hubs and Bax will stay behind since he has to work and couldn't take that much time off. I am so proud of my Husband. He has been working extremely hard opening stores and expanding his business. Couldn't be more excited and happy for him! Love him!

I plan on getting some much needed shopping in, the movies, baking, going out for coffee and dinners and just enjoying being with my family.

Hubs and I are having date night tonight since I leave tomorrow. We are going to our favorite Sushi place- 18 Asian Sushi Bar. I have been craving sushi for awhile so I am super excited to chow down on some goodness nom nom :)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Updates on my trip when I return next week!

Weekend Festivities

This weekend was a good one! Friday night hubs and I went over to Southpark and went to the Cheesecake factory- I think we ate enough for a whole week! That place is so yummy. Of course we couldn't leave with out getting some cheescake! I got the Oreo Cheesecake and hubs got red velvet. Both were awesome, but for sure a splurge kind of a thing once in awhile.

Saturday consited of running errands and relaxing. Some pictures came in the mail that I got printed from the wedding! It took me awhile to get prints to put around the house but I bought cute frames at homegoods and have photos beautifully displayed around :) We already have an amazing canvas picture hanging above our fireplace mantle from our lovely photog from our wedding! Saturday night the hubs and I went to the pre-season came for the Panthers. It was my first Panthers game so it was really exciting. It was a lot of fun and although it rained a bit at the beginning- we lucked out and were in a Suite and kept dry the whole time :) {thanks Uncle Joe!!}

Today I took advantage of sleeping in while the hubs went to work on a Sunday which is not the norm- he has been super busy with work lately and has been working the weekends a bit. I decided I wanted to finally try my familys famous homemade pasta sauce to have for dinner tonight. I went to Harris Teeter and got all my ingredients and got to cooking! It smells so good and I can't wait to have an awesome dinner ready for us tonight. Italian bread, ceaser salad, and rigatoni pasta with the homemade pasta sauce complete with sweet Italian sausage. YUM!

I have a busy week coming up which includes packing up to head down to FL on Friday to spend time time with my Fam and also work at the Srq office during the week. My sister and I will be making some headway with ordering and planning some more for our older sisters Bridal Shower that will be in November. The theme is sunflowers, so we are going for light yellows, cremes, and browns to create a chic/vintage look that we know she will love!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Hi There!

Hellloo out there readers! I have been majorly slacking on this whole blog thing. I really want to keep up with it because I want to be able to look back at all the entries and keep my online 'journal'. Things have been great and I am really feeling settled into our life in NC. I am working a lot more at Whitehead Manor which has been a great learning experience and has given me the chance to meet some new people that I work with.

Here is a recap from the last few months:
-My best friend got married and moved out to LA-visiting her the end of September and can't wait!
-Went on a Family vacay to Italy
-Went to VA to go wedding dress shopping with my sister- she said yes to the dress! Also talked/planned for her wedding that will be the end of March.
-My other best friend got engaged (wooo!)
-Working more events at Whitehead Manor- including weddings
-Trying out  new resturaunts in Charlotte with the hubs
-Bought tickets to a Jason Aldean concert that is September 9th
-Planned a trip to FL to visit my parents and sister :)
-Roadtripping up to Ohio for Labor day weekend to spend time with my husband's brother, wife, and their new baby girl! (can't wait to spoil her!)

I think that is all that has been going on! Hubs and I are headed to a Panthers/Giants game this Saturday and it will be my first Panthers game so I'm excited! We may try out a new resturaunt this weekend as well we have been wanting to try.

Have a lovely Wednesday all!

Let's play catch up..

I have been MIA for awhile but that is because I have been really busy which is good!

Cinco De Mayo was a huge success! Lots of fun with friends and tacos and margs.

I started my new job at Whitehead Manor conference center which I really like so far. I setup/break down lunches and things like that and tend to the guests that are there for the meetings. It is only part time in the afternoons since I have my other job in the mornings. I am working a wedding in September at Whitehead so I am really excited to be working with the Bride and Groom for that!

My Best friend had her bachelorette party in Nags Head. It was a fun 'last single' weekend for her and it was nice to have a girls weekend although I really missed hubs and Bax!

This past weekend we went to Ikea for some house shopping- slowly but surely our home is coming together! Well, we did SO good at Ikea! You really have to look through and there is so much stuff so it can be overwhelming but we accomplished a lot. We bought a dining room table, 8 slip covered chairs, an adorable outside wood patio set with four matching chairs and an umbrella, a cabinet/storage for our upstairs hallway and bought three woven baskets to go into the shelving, and a beautiful mirror to hang in out dining room! We were able to fit some in hubs car, but the rest is being shipped to our place on Thursday. Can't wait to set everything up!

My older Sister is engaged! I am so happy for her and Adam. They are thinking about next May for their wedding, so another fun year of planning and showers and bachelorette parties :)

This weekend is my girflfriends wedding! The same one whose Bachelorette party was a few weekends ago. I am SO excited to watch the two lovebirds tie the knot. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding in March and now I am a bridesmaid in her wedding Saturday. Hubs and I will be driving to VA its only 4 or so hours from Charlotte- and staying at my sisters house. My parents are attending the wedding also, so it will be nice to see them as well since it has been since Easter when they were here for the Holiday!

Well, I am off to run some errands and bring Baxter to his vet appointment...

Ayi Ayi Ayi!

Ok so I am in party planning mode right now: Hubs and I are having a Cinco De Mayo party at our house tonight! We love having people over, and it was actually hubs idea to have a little fiesta tonight. Hubs works with two guys who are also both recently married and just moved to charlotte (perfect right!?) I have met and hung out with one of the wives, but we are both meeting the other wife tonight at our house. We are all around the same age-mid 20's and new to charlotte, and looking for new friends so it has worked out perfectly.

We are having the two couples over and our best friend Pat. We are having Margs and beer, then I am making a taco dip, having chips and salsa, tacos with all the toppings, spanish rice, and then dessert! It should be a lot of fun to host, plus get to know the couples better and enjoy the company.

We offered for them to bring their dogs as well. We have a puppy Boston, one couple has a french bulldog, and the other, a english bulldog! I am going to try and get tons of pictures from our party and of the puppy play date ;)

I am super excited because my mom was getting rid of brand new marg glasses and pitcher and salt plate so I took them with to Charlotte and they will give our party that extra festive feel!

I hope you all have a great Cinco De Mayo!
